Tumbling
In tumbling, your feet set the tone for how your body moves. Correct foot placement builds momentum, generates power, and ensures controlled landings. Placement can be understood in three categories:
Positive Position
Feet in front of body/hips
Use for back handsprings and skills for one momentum is needed to travel directly backwards as opposed to up
Neutral Position
Feet directly underneath body/hips
Negative Position
Feet behind body/hips
Use for skills requiring distance off the ground, like back tuck layouts and fulls. Used for generating momentum and height upwards as opposed to traveling backwards.
